A big bang in the domain of camera! Samsung is finally preparing to come up with a superb digital camera – that can really revolutionize the camera’s significance and usability – inasmuch as the upcoming ultra modern camera is a fusion of DSLR and compact camera that was rarely expected from Samsung – an electronics mega company – producing the cameras and cell phones.
According to the available information, Samsung has started taking leads in the domain of camera, by inducting a highly new concept gadget – a hybrid of DSLR and compact camera that is aimed to induct finer multiple features and functions in this new series.
This new NX series camera, which is small in dimension, has a DX image sensor provides an excellent image quality of DSLR.
Before inducting this camera, Samsung had announced that their company is in the process of bringing about its own style Micro FourThirds’ system – yet it was not taken so seriously by the camera users, for the past impression of Samsung in the domain of camera. Before this Panasonic and Olympus had jointly announced to produce the Micro FourThirds system, so Samsung’s announcement was not given that much significance.
Samsung take a bigger leap – and established a separate foundation (namely Samsung Digital Imaging Company) with a view to produce the world class cameras – that will entirely focus on digitally concept cameras – indicated towards this news in 1st February.
In this latest series – its one of remarkable features is the DX image sensor – as this is being employed since last many years, and deemed as a norm for DSLR cameras and for all types of cameramen. This greater size image sensor makes sure high image output with a brilliant rate of signal/noise, even at higher ISO features.
Primary the mega race is meant to lend the greater amount of pixels, yet now many new developments have been made and so around 6 megapixels can be sufficient to provide a finer resolution. Nowadays, efforts are being made to enhance the megapixel quality, yet the multiplicity in standard between the DSLR and compact camera seems increasing day by day.
Interestingly it has very appealing features, yet it is lacking one thing, that is mirror, yet that lacking has been met partially by adding a high standard electronic viewfinder. Besides it, this latest camera also offers the Live View functionality.

Sunday’s can be boring and at times they can be most memorable days, and this Sunday (3rd-May-2009) was one of the exceptional and memorable Sunday of my life. PCK (Photo Club of Karachi) a flickR group which i’m proud to be member had been hassling with the photography-meet for more than 3 weeks on which location to finalize.. although the trip was initially finalized with destination “Badin” but last moment changes popped in and we swifted to Sehwan Sharif.. a little bit about Sehwan Sharif
From Wikipedia
Sehwan Sharif is located in Jamshoro District of Sindh, Pakistan.
The city is known for its Muslim patron saint Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar who lived here in 13th century CE. The mausoleum of Hazrat Shahbaz Qalandar attracts hundred of thousands of faithful every year.

Details about our trip..
5:00am
My journey began at 5am (that’s when I woke up) packed all my gears early morning, it was really dark outside and all sorts of doubts were running over my mind since it was my first time with PCK (officially ) and almost all of them were unknown faces to me and was wondering how will the day end up..
6.30am
I was assigned to pickup Fahim since he lives nearby to my place and meet WMZ in Garden Jamat Khana, I called Fahim and there was little confusion as he was told by someone which i’ll not name .. that 6.45am was the pickup time, and I reconfirmed by calling WMZ again but he mentioned that “NO” and 6.30am was the right time.. so I rushed and reached Fahim’s locations in 10 minutes (very close eh?)
6:55am
Next I had to pickup Amin (amoo) who also lives not so nearby, picked him him and moved towards our meet point which was conveyed to me by WMZ that Five Star chowrangi in N.North Nazimabad somewhere which was unknown to me so thanks Amin for guiding us to the correct location.
7.20am (approx)
I met WMZ and rest of the group.. we shook hands introduced ourselves I bet most of them who were meeting first time would have forgetting everyone’s names the next moment itself only Anyhow afterwhich we (whole group) decided for break-fast which was normal routine for every meet(I was new so I was’nt aware of most of the plan of action).
8:00am (approx)
We touched highway and were told (all people who were driving) that meet at Shell Pump before Hyderabad Toll Plaza.. It was approximate 2 hours drive from Karachi to Hyderabad.. and approx 2 hours drive from Hyderbad to Sehwan Sharif.
12:25pm
This is the time I took the first shot inside Sehwan Sharif.. so camera is telling me the exact time not approx
click - click - - click - - click - - click - - click - - click -(camera sound effect)
The people who were present were a bit surprised and excited seen us a group of photographers and most of them thought we were from some Newspaper, TV channel, or Media guys so it was easy for us to take any photo we wanted .. having Big lens in hand is really an advantage at times lol! Thereonwards everybody split in groups, individuals and did their own thing… basically speaking it was like on-your-own. You can sit and drool there or move your ass and start shooting choice was yours!
1:50pm
This is time again from camera at Sehwan Sharif.. it was the last shot from my Canon 40D taken at Sehwan Sharif…
We started travelling back to Karachi.. the road was a bit damanged so it took us longer to reach back as compared to reaching Sehwan. We did stop at a mini-restaurant for refreshment (only tea) if you ask me.. and at that mini-restaurant we took this group photo-shot above.
8.30pm
I reached home.. don’t ask me what the hell happened on the way back that it took soo long, well in short.. road condition was not very good, traffic was single lane, too many trucks, over-taking, braking, slow-downs, etc.. and then back to Karachi traffic .. drop off members to their locations.. and come back home!
— end of story –
I am sure everyone enjoyed a lot though there are always exception… not sure in this trip who were/are the exceptions.

Yesterday, due to the recent city conditions the PCK event was postponed, but some of us could already foresee the boring day ahead of us so why sit at home alone and do nothing ? Hence I messaged Amin that I am up for the meet which was tentative between Amin and Asad (Acid). The time was decided 5pm at kfc near Sindhi Muslim and the word was left on internet PCK group. Eventually at the meet point 5 of PCK members gathered and spent initial few minutes discussing about our gears and personal life as some of us were meeting first time. And since we were there why not do some informal photography session, it was Amin’s idea that we shall go to seaview, we reached there moments later to sunset and got pretty nice shots.
Our first shot was of an old man who was selling corn and initial few shots were sort of candid but once he saw us with weird things hanging around our neck and shooting him,he soon became ready for some action, it seemed like he was enjoying the sound of clicks and attention he was getting. One of our mates Asad who was holding a canon PowerShot almost must have sacred the poor man while trying to get decent shots. Most of us are not pros in photography were trying to impress / learn from Zaigham who seemed like knowing it all. No doubt he did seen to get excellent shots with his beast Canon EF 70-200 f4L please don’t ask me to post his share of pics its his work and his choice to share it or not.
Once we were done with the old man, we moved a little further towards the Sea and did some random shots, meanwhile it was time for sun-set. We did manage to get some excellent pictures of Sunset but overall it was very much hazy.
And finally it was time to go back to home, we returned to our meeting point KFC, dropped everyone and capturing the golden moments in our camera’s
For those of you don’t know about PCK it’s FlickR group by the name Photo Club of Karachi >> link
Where are rest of pics ? >> in my Hard-Drive drooling over, I will wait for other members to send me pics so I can post them here.. but meanwhile only pics is of group members and old man with his corn : - )
Sigma’s landmark development - the most modern series–Sigma 18-200mm high-zoom-ratio lens is fully having the power of covering a broader range of focal lengths, from broader-angle to telephoto. Two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass factors and two fusion aspherical lenses right for all modes of abnormalities, providing the opportunity to Sigma house, the extended-range super-zoom lens in a highly compact and lightweight body that measures 70mm in diameter and 78.1mm and weighs merely 14.3 ounces.
The latest lens coating, meanwhile, decreases flare and ghost - a common issue seen in digital cameras, thereby, creating the best colour balance. Rest of the trivia, consists on a minimum focusing distance of 45cm (17.7) at all focal lengths, a high zoom ratio of 11:1, and a maximum enlargement of 1:4.4.
The lens framework involves an inner focusing system that restricts the front of the lens from moving, making it particularly appropriate for using circular polarizing filters and petal-shaped lens covers. Moreover, the overall length of the lens never swaps during focusing, enabling the lens befitting to handle and easy to operate.
Conclusively, the len’s zoom lock switch removes “zoom creep” during transport—a highly befitting addition, during the travelling. The lens, which involves a metal mount, is supported by one year warranty.
Product Description
The Sigma 18-200 lens an optical stabilizer function and is primarily structured for digital CLR cameras. It is highly befitting for low light environs, like indoors, during the dusk, or in telephoto range. This mechanism uses two sensors within the lens to sense vertical and horizontal movement of the camera by moving an optical image stabilizing lens group, to efficiently recompense for camera shake. It also automatically senses panning movement of the camera and recompenses for camera shake, while shooting moving objects, such as motor sports.
A zoom-lock switch mechanism is offered to restrict the lens from changing its position, owing to its own weight 69.3 – 7.1 degrees (Sigma SD format) angle of view 7 Diaphragm Blades F22 Minimum Aperture 45cm/17.7 Minimum Focusing Distance 1-3.9 Maximum Enlargement Petal Lens Cover Dimensions – Diameter 79mm x length 100mm Weight – 21.5 ounces (610 grams).
